10767 – Sr. Storage and Backup Engineer

PURPOSE:

Define, design, and implement storage, backup, recovery, and data management solutions that ensure high performance of the organization's enterprise data (on-premise or cloud). Responsible for operational maintenance, availability, and capacity of critical Storage Area Networking (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and other storage related environments. Closely monitor server storage performance and utilization, identify problems, and implement solutions. Lead the creation of standards, best practices, and new processes for operational integration of new technology solutions. Ensure cloud storage (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.), backup, and recovery environments are compliant with defined standards and operational procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
  • Provide operational support and guidance to internal and external requesters
  • Be part of a team working specifically on the clients Storage/SAN/NAS and Backup Systems
  • Provide proactive recommendations for improving Storage & Backup operations
  • Perform daily operational tasks including storage provisioning and reclamation availability
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, diagrams and other related documentation
  • Support project planning, architecture and implementation as required
  • Maintain backup catalogs, schedules and reporting
  • Monitor backup job execution
  • Responsible in managing Capacity Management, KPIs, SLAs, SLOs reporting
  • Monitor MSP and vendor service performance
  • Develop and maintain patch management plan in accordance with OEM best practices
  • Track assets, including lease and warranty information and service agreements
  • Actively participate in Incident Management and Problem Management (e.g. RCA) processes
  • Maintain Change Management compliance
  • Develop, maintain and support Disaster Recovery planning and execution

REQUIREMENTS
  • BS / BA degree preferred or equivalent years of experience
  • 8-10 years of relevant IT experience
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Strong documentation skills with a command of Microsoft Office Suite

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux, UNIX, Oracle, AIX connectivity with HBA devices
  • OEM, Storage, Platform certification (Dell/EMC, NetApp, Pure)
  • AWS and/or Azure certification

Salary Range - $98,060 - $151,008
