Purpose:
Hyundai AutoEver America is seeking a highly motivated Generative AI Engineer with a passion for continuous innovation in AI and Machine Learning. As a Generative AI Engineer in the Emerging Technology department, the candidate will leverage both technology and data to develop cutting-edge AI solutions that drive innovation and enhance enterprise applications.
The individual will be responsible for developing and supporting AI solutions, guiding project and operations teams, and contributing to the design, development, solutioning, and maintenance of application components.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities:
AI System Architecture, Design & Development:
Assess business needs and select appropriate Generative AI technologies to implement effective solutions
Work closely with key business stakeholders, IT teams, and subject-matter experts to plan and deliver optimal AI-powered data solutions
Analyze data and system architecture, design AI-driven solutions, and implement information system enhancements
Work with product owners to define and lead the long-term development of enterprise AI-Powered solutions
Design, develop, and integrate Generative AI solutions into existing software products
Build and optimize data ingestion pipelines to support AI applications
Develop tools and frameworks to simplify the use of Generative AI in applications
Optimization and Management:
Ensure efficient data processing and transformation for AI-driven applications
Optimize AI solution performance, inference speed, and cost efficiency in production environments
Maintain CI/CD automation for streamlined deployment and monitoring of AI solutions
Implementation and Integration:
Develop, test, and deploy data pipelines to production, ensuring efficient data flow for AI applications
Integrate LLM-based solutions with existing enterprise software platforms
Collaborate with data scientists to research and implement state-of-the-art Generative AI techniques
Conduct technical and functional analyses on AI project challenges, ensuring implementations meet quality assurance and performance benchmarks
Pilot AI products with beta customers and refine based on feedback
Security and Compliance:
Ensure AI-powered applications comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and relevant regulatory requirements
Establish and enforce best practices in AI integration, security, and responsible AI usage
Follow AI governance best practices to promote ethical AI development, ensure model accountability, minimize bias, and meet compliance requirements.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with product owners, data scientists, and engineers throughout the AI solution development lifecycle
Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers on AI integration best practices
Conduct end-to-end integration testing and support issue resolution in production AI deployments
Continuous Improvement:
Stay current with advancements in Generative AI, LLM fine-tuning, and AI development frameworks
Evaluate and recommend new AI tools and technologies to enhance the AI development landscape
Contribute to AI knowledge-sharing initiatives and best practices within the organization

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in AI/ML, Data Science, or Cloud Technologies are a plus.
Minimum of 6+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years in Generative AI, NLP, or Large Language Models (LLMs). Hands-on experience with LLM fine-tuning, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), agentic workflows, and AI model optimization. Proficiency in Python, with experience in building AI-driven applications in an agile environment. Experience with Git, JIRA, and CI/CD automation for managing and deploying AI-powered solutions.
4+ years of experience programming in Python, building AI-driven applications and developing scalable AI solutions.
3+ years of experience working with Large Language Models (LLM), NLP, and Generative AI technologies
Experience with Generative AI frameworks, including LangChain and RAG-based solutions using Azure AI Search.
Strong expertise in Azure Cognitive services, including Azure OpenAI, Document Intelligence, AI Search Service, and Azure Machine Learning
Knowledge of LLM optimization techniques, prompt engineering, and AI solution deployment best practices
Experience implementing and optimizing vector search and retrieval solutions using Azure AI Search for RAG-based applications
Strong understanding of data ingestion pipelines and microservices architecture
Experience with cloud-based AI services (Azure AI preferred). Familiarity with GCP Vertex AI and AWS AI/ML is beneficial
Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as Azure Cosmos DB and MongoDB for storing and managing AI-related metadata and embeddings
Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes for deploying and managing AI workloads in production environments
Ability to manage multiple AI projects and development tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, data scientists, and engineers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to debug AI models, optimize AI workflows, and resolve deployment challenges
Preferred Qualifications:
Best Practices Knowledge of AI Deployment: Experience with fine-tuning LLMs, AI model optimization, and responsible AI governance is beneficial
Cloud-Based AI Services: Prior experience with deploying AI models using cloud services (Azure OpenAI, AWS AI, GCP AI, Dialogflow, BigQuery etc.) is a plus
Monitoring & Performance Tools: Familiarity with AI model monitoring and logging tools, including Azure Monitor, Azure Application Insights, Azure Machine Learning Model monitoring, is highly preferred.
Salary Range - $96,550 to $138,061
