DETAILS:

Perform activities related to the day-to-day administration and maintenance of transactional databases, ensuring that the database is available, performing properly, and safe. Perform installations, upgrades and patching, backup and recovery, performance tuning, security, monitoring, and configuration. Confer with appropriate managers regarding problems with and capabilities of databases. Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Oracle, SQL Server, and Tibero databases. Support and development of applications. Perform backups, recoveries, installations, and security. Responsible for database performance tuning and tuning applications and database monitoring and operating system configurations. Assist in the logical and physical database and provide general support to users. Implement and administer database replication between Oracle, SQL Server, and Tibero databases, as well as dissimilar databases. Upgrade and upsize databases from earlier versions to the latest versions. Install, configure, administer, and secure production servers. Participate in database support activities throughout the full lifecycle of a project.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field plus 5 years of experience in the offered position or related position.

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess expertise/ knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Required expertise/knowledge includes:

Experience with database backup, recovery, monitoring, and upgrade tools/solutions, including Oracle Rman/SAP brbackup tools, NetBackup/Avamar solutions, MS SQL Server Management Studio, Toad for Oracle and Tibero Studio, and Oracle Database Upgrade Assistant.
Experience in SAP business application software running on Oracle database on Unix/Linux/NT environments.
Skilled in writing and debugging shell scripts for automating procedures in Linux/Unix operating systems for monitoring and controlling database operations.
Experience in multiple and very large-scale (90 databases) Oracle and SQL Server databases environment for sizing and projection.

OTHER:

Job Site: Montgomery, AL;

40 hours/week;

Salary range: $99,237 per year to $118,000 per year;
