Role Overview:
The Business Systems Analyst – SAP ABAP & ERP Development is responsible for Co-leading and supporting development solutions across the Hyundai Motor Group Manufacturing America (HMGMA) Meta Plant. This role serves as the primary ABAP development expert, ensuring high‑quality technical solutions that meet evolving business requirements across SAP S/4HANA, Fiori, and related enterprise systems.
Acting as both a hands‑on developer and business liaison, the ABAP Developer collaborates closely with offshore development teams and Korea Headquarters to implement best practices, standardize processes, and deliver scalable, efficient enhancements. The position plays a key role in evaluating, designing, and executing ERP projects and enhancements, while also providing break/fix service delivery support to ensure the stability and performance of the organization’s SAP ERP environment.
The ABAP Developer works cross‑functionally with IT and business partners to ensure that all development activities are executed cost‑effectively, align with architectural and quality standards, and support the operational needs of the Meta Plant. By ensuring timely resolution of service issues and driving continuous improvement, this role contributes directly to the reliability and optimization of HMGMA’s business systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Co-Lead ABAP development efforts by delivering high‑quality solutions and managing ABAP‑related projects.
- Develop programming solutions that support multiple SAP functional areas.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SAP ABAP production issues, identifying root causes and proposing corrective actions.
- Test and validate fixes in collaboration with business users and functional consultants, including integration testing.
- Perform routine ABAP support tasks in accordance with standard procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and update SAP system information from an ABAP perspective.
- Carry out additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by management.
Must‑Have Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience in the IT field
- 3+ years of experience solving business problems with technology solutions, preferably within complex enterprise environments
- Strong ability to translate technical details into actionable tasks and solutions
- Excellent customer service, verbal communication, and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including executives, managers, and subject matter experts
- Proven analytical and problem‑solving abilities in complex technical environments
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills
- Hands‑on SAP ABAP programming experience (required)
- Strong system troubleshooting and analytical abilities
- Broad knowledge of SAP development techniques (e.g., dialog programming, BDC, SAPscript, Smart Forms)
Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications:
- Experience working in the Automotive or Manufacturing industry
- In‑depth understanding of SAP modules such as PP, MM, SD, FI, CO, HR, BW
- SAP ABAP certification (preferred)
- Broader experience with enterprise‑wide digital transformation or large‑scale SAP initiatives

Base Salary Range: $76,300 - $99,200
