PURPOSE
The Sr. System Administrator provides technical guidance and is responsible for the maintenance, standards, life-cycle management, design and implementation approaches for the company's Windows servers and/or related infrastructure. They implement, plan and design proposals for high-impact IT solutions and their use involving leading edge technologies and methods considering key factors such as their long-term effectiveness (service delivery and cost), and they coordinate their efforts with Headquarters. The Sr. System Administrator leads or contributes to designs applied to all aspects of servers and/or related infrastructure prototypes and eventual implementation. They perform work of high complexity and derive logical processes based on technical platforms. They engage in performance/integration testing, problem analysis, business and # technical analysis. The Sr. System Administrator possesses broad and deep skills across disciplines, serving as a mentor to others. In addition, they provide technical support and guidance # to users.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Technical Leadership (75%)
  • Perform Windows, and Microsoft Exchange System Administration
  • Perform Windows Server Environment System Monitoring
  • Manage assigned tasks and quickly respond to and process Windows helpdesk tickets using ITSM in a timely and reliable manner
  • Support Help Desk personnel and Administrators as required
  • Monitor/Resolve Windows server performance, health and security issues
  • Develop/test and analyze new technical solutions to problems
  • Install, maintain, and configure Windows Servers, Active Directory, MS Exchange email, File & Print servers
  • Perform backup and restores of Exchange and SQL databases and all Windows servers
  • Detect, diagnose and troubleshoot server malfunctions
  • Provide all aspects of user account management
  • Maintain current inventory of all Windows assets, purchase history and warranty data
Project Management (25%)
  • Manage a large portfolio of projects, tasks, issues and systems
  • Manage projects from initial requirement stage on through completion stage, ensuring appropriate documentation and completion
  • Conduct/Lead formal project meetings with team, other departments, and customers

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or IT Related disciplines.
  • 8+ years of directly related work experience with Windows & Exchange Servers
  • Automotive experience a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of IT environments, technologies, system hosting infrastructure and their platforms
  • Experience with release management processes Cloud computing (AWS, OpenStack) a plus
  • Experience with various networking protocols - TCP/IP, DNS, NIS, LDAP & NFS Scripting background a plus
  • Strong communication; customer relationship, organizational and follow through skills; technical documentation and positive attitude
  • Ability to follow logical procedures and implement documented tasks
  • Working knowledge of networking, load balancer and Cisco equipment is a very strong plus
  • VMWare Virtual Center highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of file replication and content management systems is a very strong plus
  • Able to develop and maintain system documentation and run books.
CERTIFICATIONS
  • Microsoft certification required
  • Vmware certification preferred
Salary Range - $105,000 - $120,000
