DETAILS:
Maintain HMMA/KAGA MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) for continuous stability to support vehicle production. Develop software to work with current MES applications to add or enhance functionality. Install hardware and software for enhancements to existing systems, including installing, configuring and monitoring VMware vSphere 8 and maintaining and installing equipment and configurations for the MES network. Maintain assigned MES shop systems and troubleshoot root causes of system issues to ensure systems are running smoothly. Generate ideas for system improvement. Prepare and conduct system and programming tests requiring interfacing of hardware and software. Conduct programming tasks including program design, program coding, debugging and documentation. Prepare feasibility studies and designs tests to determine operating characteristics of software as directed. Coordinate and work with other IT and non-IT groups when integration projects/issues arise. Learn and understand vehicle production process. Design, develop and deploy web pages and android applications. Develop software to assist with the monitoring of shops and to add or enhance functionality with current MES systems. Monitor backup and recovery services with AVAMAR and RP4VM as well as active directory services for MES. Develop and maintain secondary software for environmental data gathering and assembly repair reports. Perform purchasing duties for hardware, software, and services to complete tasks/projects. Create procedures and documentation for the MES and provide training to MES Technicians and Users. Run reports for customers for data in assigned systems and communicate with clients to meet the organization's needs.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field plus 2 years of experience in the offered position or related position.
SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess expertise/ knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Required expertise/knowledge includes:
- Knowledge of IT hardware in order to understand Windows services, operating systems and virtual services (vSphere).
- Skilled in managing and supporting IT hardware including virtualization servers, storage, networking devices, PCs and peripherals to ensure reliable operations.
- Proficient in diagnosing and resolving service failures, dependencies, and startup issues to minimize production downtime in a car manufacturing plant.
- Experience in configuring backups, replication, and DR solutions using AVAMAR, RP4VM and SRM to ensure business continuity.
- Expertise in performance monitoring, resource allocation, and troubleshooting across compute, storage, and networking in VMware vSphere virtual environment.
- Experience in building, debugging, and optimizing Windows desktop applications and web pages using WPF, ASP.NET MVC, WCF and LINQ to ensure high performance and reliability.
- Proficient in diagnosing defects, implementing fixes, and developing new features in C#/.NET applications to meet evolving business needs for continuous production in the automobile industry.
- Experienced in developing applications that interface with PLC I/O data, registers and process variables to enable real-time monitoring, control and troubleshooting in productions environments.
- Software knowledge of Java, JSP, C++, ASP.NET, C# for creating customized software solutions based on client requirements in a manufacturing plant.
- RDBMS/SQL knowledge including Oracle, MySQL, Toad for oracle for managing databases, writing queries, optimizing performance and supporting applications with reliable storage and retrieval.
- Experience in setting up, deploying and maintaining scanners, PCs and display systems to ensure uninterrupted vehicle manufacturing production operations.
- Experience with programming languages, including HTML, Angular and jQuery for designing and developing web pages and Android mobile applications.
- Experience in deploying and hosting Web pages using IIS.
- Experience developing software to assist with the monitoring of Assembly and Engine production shops in the automobile industry.
- Experience developing software to add or enhance functionality with MES (Manufacturing Execution System) systems in the automobile industry.
- Experience training MES Technicians on equipment setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance, and training users on proper system operation, basic checks, and safe reporting of issues to minimize downtime in the automobile industry.
- Experienced in managing and coordinating software projects, ensuring alignment between business needs, stakeholders, and development teams.
- Hands-on experience configuring, managing, and administering Active Directory environments, including user accounts, groups, policies, and security permissions.
OTHER: Job Site: Montgomery, AL; 40 hours/week; Salary range: $67,766 per year to $83,000 per year; If offered employment, must have legal right to work in U.S. EOE.
