10083-Software Engineer I
Fountain Valley, CA (onsite is required)PURPOSE:
As a Software Engineer I specializing in maintenance and support, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of Hyundai/Kia warranty system. This position involves working across the Java-based back end, Vue.js front end, and AWS-based cloud infrastructure. You’ll help troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and provide technical support to internal stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions within the warranty system.
• Perform routine maintenance such as system upgrades, patches, and database optimization.
• Monitor system health and proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure system stability.
• Provide technical support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions to minimize impact on operations.
• Work closely with third-party vendors and service providers to escalate and resolve complex technical issues.
• Contribute to front-end updates using Vue.js to improve user experience.
• Assist in managing AWS resources (EKS, EC2, S3, RDS) for performance, scalability, and availability.
• Support data integrity through database tuning, query development, and schema updates.
• Participate in planning, testing, and deploying system updates in a CI/CD environment.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation for support and development processes.

SCOPES:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY -
DECISION MAKING/DISCRETION - Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. Builds productive internal/external working relationships.
RESULTS - Escalate as needed to address business need when determined to be out of scope of position responsibility.
STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT - Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new projects or assignments.
EDUCATION - bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
5+ years’ experience in programmer position
IT SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
• Solid understanding of Java and related frameworks (Spring Boot, Hibernate).
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Vue.js (or similar frameworks like React or Angular).
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS (EKS, EC2, S3, RDS).
• Experience with relational databases such as SQL or Oracle.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced development environment.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI/CD tools is a plus.
CERTIFICATIONS - Certifications in AWS or front-end frameworks (e.g., Vue.js) are a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read information.

TRAVEL TIME -Occasional travel may be required.
SALARY RANGE: $72,940 - $94,820 - $104,302 per yr.
