Business Systems Consultant (Job Code: GJ0521)

Details:

Perform requirements gathering, data pipeline reviews and development, data analysis, data mapping, logical data modeling, functional design, and data quality improvements. Review, build and maintain data pipelines that efficiently move data from various sources to the data storage system using Python, Informatica PowerCenter and IICS. Gather and document business requirements for MDM initiatives, which involve working with business stakeholders to identify data requirements and defining use cases for data access and integration across the enterprise. Design and implement MDM systems that meet the organization's business requirements, which include selecting and configuring appropriate MDM software, defining data mappings and transformations, and developing data validation rules and processes. Integrate data from multiple sources into a centralized data store, including designing and implementing data integration processes and tools, such as ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, to ensure that data is accurately and efficiently transferred from source systems to the data warehouse. Ensure that the data stored in the data warehouse is secure and meets privacy requirements, including implementing appropriate access controls and data encryption measures to protect sensitive data, as well as complying with data privacy regulations and standards. Maintain and optimize the performance of the data storage and retrieval systems, including monitoring system performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, and implementing system upgrades and patches to ensure ongoing stability and reliability. Communicate with stakeholders and end-users to ensure their understanding of MDM concepts, data governance policies, and system functionality, including providing training and support to users and stakeholders to ensure their successful adoption and use of the MDM system. Ensure that the data stored in the data warehouse is accurate, complete, and consistent, including implementing data quality checks and validation processes to identify and correct data errors, as well as monitoring data quality over time to ensure ongoing accuracy and consistency. Write SQL queries to validate data in the back-end systems. Work closely with end users, ETL developers, Data Modelers/Architects, Report Developers and Functional teams. May work from home. 

Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field plus 8 years of experience in the offered position or related position.

Special Skills and qualifications:

Must possess expertise/ knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Required expertise/knowledge includes:

• Experience in database design, data modeling, data warehousing, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and programming languages (Python, SQL, and Informatica).
• Data modeling experience using ERwin r7 or higher.
• Experience creating, maintaining, and fine-tuning Oracle database objects using Toad for Oracle 11 or higher.
• Understanding of data warehousing methodology, data mapping and modeling, ETL, databases, and Business Intelligence and their processes.
• Knowledge of SQL, Oracle database, stored procedures and ad-hoc query development.
• Ability to work with star schema designs.
• Knowledge in building and designing logical/physical data modeling.
• Business analysis experience to capture data and reporting requirements and translating to technical specs for the enterprise data warehouse.
• Experience in data analysis and develop data mapping and functional solution design documents for Informatica/ETL developers.
• Experience performing source data model/data analysis, and target EDW data model/data analysis.
• Experience capturing business rules and build physical design document to meet user requirements.
• Expertise to understand and interpret logical design document and data model diagrams to understand requirements to build physical design document.
• Ability to effectively communicate the functional design to developers and confirm the same with the business teams.
• Ability to effectively document overall business processes and data/information flow.
• Ability to suggest and implement process improvement and data collection opportunities.
• Experience with functional testing of reports and ETL data auditing.

40 hours/week. 

Salary: $151,694 per year.
