JOB TITLE: Application Administrator III (Job Code: SD1228)

 

DETAILS:

Perform application administration activities such as creating, modifying, and deleting users, optimizing remote access, and security access for messaging systems, databases, and web applications. Coordinate with department leadership to plan, design, and schedule the release of all software, hardware, and operating system updates. Develop and enhance processes and technical documentation, create back-up procedures, test plans, and reports. Prioritize and respond to requests for service and may provide escalation support to helpdesk staff. Provide knowledge for various SAP modules for integrated data interchange for EAI and EDI developments based on WebMethods. Develop EAI/EDI Interfaces. Monitor and evaluate all in-place systems and applications and initialize repairs, updates and other changes necessary to ensure maximum performance. Independently modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance, including windows servers, third party systems, storage systems, etc. Consult with engineering staff and users to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop and implement specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems, requiring specialized aptitude with various systems. Support and administer various applications software platforms. Document IT activities such as down time, problems, and systems configurations. May coordinate, manage and/or build new computer systems for special purposes. Remain abreast of emerging technology and maintain technical competency of IT applications. Keep abreast and aware of latest security trends and participate in regular security activities. Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Network with senior internal and external personnel in own area of expertise.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Information Technology, Applied Computer Science, or related field plus 5 years of experience in the offered position or related position.

 

SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess expertise/ knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Required expertise/knowledge includes:

 

  • Experience in delivering webMethods 10.x integrations (Integration Server, UM/Broker, Trading Networks, JDBC and SAP adapters) to integrate SAP ERP, MES, supplier, dealer, and logistics systems, enabling just-in-time production, real-time plant visibility, and high-availability operations.
  • Experience in A2A integrations between SAP ERP, MES, PLM, and Quality systems to support real-time production planning, BOM synchronization, and assembly line status updates.
  • Experience building B2B integrations with suppliers, logistics partners, and dealers using EDI (856/830/862), enabling just-in-time parts delivery, shipment tracking, and order-to-delivery visibility.
  • Experience supporting high-availability, event-driven manufacturing workflows using asynchronous messaging, robust error handling, and monitoring to prevent production downtime.
  • Experience in developing SOAP and RESTful APIs integrating dealer, supplier, SAP ERP, and MES systems to support vehicle ordering, production tracking, and logistics visibility.
  • Experience implementing secure, scalable manufacturing APIs for real-time production events and quality data, enabling just-in-time operations and minimizing assembly line downtime.
  • Experience in delivering B2B integrations using X12 EDI to automate supplier procurement, shipping notifications, and invoicing in automotive manufacturing.
  • Experience managing high-volume flat file exchanges for production, inventory, and quality reporting across manufacturing plants.
  • Experience implementing secure SFTP file transfers for EDI and flat-file exchanges between automotive plants, suppliers, and logistics partners.
  • Experience with PGP encryption/decryption to protect sensitive production, pricing, and supplier data, ensuring compliance and secure B2B communication.
  • Experience defining, configuring, and maintaining secure EDI/B2B Trading Networks using webMethods Trading Networks to facilitate critical data exchange (EDI, XML ,Flat File) with global suppliers and partners, ensuring precise data mapping and seamless integration with the plant's core SAP/ERP system.
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for application interfaces, including detailed integration maps, data flow diagrams, interface specifications, disaster recovery procedures, and operational run books, ensuring high availability and compliance with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Experience in real-time monitoring and troubleshooting of production EAI/EDI systems and interfaces, resolving critical issues which include message failures (incorrect EDI mapping/syntax errors), integration latency, system downtime/availability issues, data synchronization discrepancies between the B2B gateway and the core ERP, and non-compliance errors in partner data transmission.

OTHER: Job Site: Montgomery, AL; 40 hours/week; Salary range: $104,104 per year to $106,165 per year; If offered employment, must have legal right to work in U.S.  EOE.
