Role Overview 

The Cloud Security Engineer, Security Architecture & Engineering (SAE), is a senior individual contributor responsible for designing, implementing, and enhancing security controls that protect Hyundai AutoEver America's cloud and enterprise environments. This role serves as a key member of the Security Architecture & Engineering team and focuses on strengthening cloud security posture, securing enterprise platforms, and ensuring alignment with corporate information security policies and best practices. 

The successful candidate will partner closely with infrastructure, application development, cloud platform, and cybersecurity teams to assess risk, implement security solutions, and support secure architecture initiatives across a rapidly evolving technology landscape. This position will help drive security-by-design principles, improve security automation, and ensure cloud and enterprise environments remain resilient against internal and external threats. 

In addition, the Cloud Security Engineer will leverage security technologies, monitoring platforms, vulnerability assessment tools, and cloud-native security capabilities to identify risks, improve security controls, and support compliance objectives. This role requires strong technical expertise across cloud computing, networking, automation, systems administration, and information security, along with the ability to translate security requirements into practical and scalable solutions. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, implement, and maintain security controls across cloud and enterprise environments. 

  • Partner with infrastructure, application, and security teams to develop secure architecture solutions and operational best practices. 

  • Assess security risks across cloud platforms, enterprise systems, applications, and supporting infrastructure. 

  • Evaluate vulnerability, threat, and penetration testing findings to determine risk to business assets and recommend remediation strategies. 

  • Implement and optimize security technologies, including EDR, antivirus, proxy, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and related security solutions. 

  • Support cloud security initiatives by strengthening security posture, improving configuration management, and enhancing threat protection capabilities. 

  • Develop and automate security processes, controls, and monitoring capabilities to improve operational efficiency and risk visibility. 

  • Perform security analysis, validation testing, and post-remediation reviews to ensure identified risks are effectively mitigated. 

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to communicate security risks and recommend cost-effective security solutions. 

  • Monitor evolving threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends impacting Hyundai's technology environment. 

  • Support security architecture reviews, security engineering projects, and strategic cybersecurity initiatives. 

  • Assist with compliance and security control implementation efforts aligned with corporate requirements and industry frameworks. 

  • Work with third-party vendors, affiliates, and business partners to improve the overall security posture of the organization. 

  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, and optimization across security operations and engineering functions. 

  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience AND 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, professional services, vulnerability management, or compliance monitoring. 

  • Demonstrated experience leading cybersecurity security initiatives, risk assessments, and vulnerability analysis activities. 

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, automation, networking, systems administration, application development, and information security best practices. 

  • Experience with vulnerability scanning, SIEM technologies, penetration testing, network admission control, advanced malware protection, and mobile device management. 

  • Experience designing, implementing, and operating security technologies, including IDS/IPS, firewalls, log analysis platforms, SIEM solutions, and network behavior analysis tools. 

  • Hands-on experience with security tools such as Tenable.io, Nessus, SecurityCenter, Rapid7, Nexpose, or related cybersecurity platforms. 

  • Strong ability to evaluate security risks and recommend appropriate security controls and remediation strategies. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience supporting cloud security programs and cloud-based security architectures. 

  • Experience implementing security automation and process optimization initiatives. 

  • Experience supporting regulatory and compliance frameworks, including CIS, SOX, HIPAA, HITRUST, SSAE 16, SOC 1, SOC 2, PCI DSS, PA-DSS, NIST, ISO 27001, and ISO 27002. 

  • Experience working within large-scale enterprise or highly regulated environments.

Salary range: $96,550 - $138,062
