What You Will Be Doing
As a Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS), you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role focuses on the operational management of AWS resources, including automation, monitoring, and optimization, while adhering to best practices for security, performance, and cost efficiency.
Infrastructure Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, ELB); perform provisioning, tuning, and health monitoring; manage IAM roles and permissions.
Automation & IaC: Use AWS CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform for infrastructure automation; maintain reusable templates; write scripts in Python or Bash to streamline operations.
Monitoring & Cost Optimization: Implement tools like CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config; monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and apply cost-saving strategies like Reserved Instances.
Security & Compliance: Manage AWS accounts via Landing Zone and Control Tower; enforce security best practices (IAM, Security Groups, NACLs, encryption); ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement: Support DevOps and IT teams; maintain documentation; stay updated on AWS advancements; share knowledge and recommend new tools for improved efficiency.
Basic Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent experience); 4+ years of hands-on AWS cloud environment management and troubleshooting in production settings.
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation, Control Tower); skilled in IaC tools (CloudFormation, Terraform), monitoring tools (CloudWatch, CloudTrail), and cloud security best practices; familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
Soft Skills & Collaboration:
- Strong communication and analytical skills; effective in cross-functional teamwork, problem-solving, and managing multiple priorities in dynamic environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate.
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with hybrid cloud and multi-cloud environments.
- Knowledge of cloud cost management strategies and tools such as AWS Cost Explorer or Trusted Advisor.
Salary Range - $103,170 - $158,873
